Blendi Gonxhja, nominated for Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Sports, announced on social media the approval of the methodology and rates for the remuneration of works protected by copyright.

Gonxhja said the decision is a key step in guaranteeing fair compensation for authors, creators, and rights holders. He stressed that it aligns with the national legal framework and brings Albania closer to European Union standards.

The approved methodology and rates aim to ensure fair and reasonable payment for all rights holders, respect national laws, and create a sustainable, economically viable system for users of copyrighted works. Gonxhja noted that the measure also expands remuneration opportunities by applying the payment obligation to all users.

“This decision ensures that authors, creators, and rights holders receive fair and justified compensation. It brings our practices in line with European Union standards while promoting a sustainable and accessible system for all users,” Gonxhja stated.
