While sharing images from the Church of St. Mary on the magical island of Maligrad, the Minister of Economy, Culture, and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, described the church as a pearl of our cultural heritage.

The church has been restored thanks to the cross-border initiative SMARTFORYOU2, in close collaboration with the Republic of North Macedonia.

The revitalization project for the church included its restoration and conservation both inside and out, the rehabilitation of the path leading to it, and the preservation of the stunning frescoes that bring life to the sacred walls.

“The new lighting for the church and the path creates a magical atmosphere that enhances the beauty of this holy site,” stated Minister Gonxhja.
