The Albanian government has approved two decisions to expropriate private properties affected by the expansion of the Elbasan–Qafë Thanë road corridor.

The first decision covers the eighth phase of the Elbasan–Përrenjas–Qafë Thanë road expansion project. The government will transfer the affected properties to the Albanian Road Authority (ARRSH).

Authorities will fully compensate owners of buildings and land. The state will allocate more than 32.4 million ALL through the Expropriation Fund.

The expropriation process will begin after the decision appears in the Official Gazette and will finish within three months. Meanwhile, owners will receive compensation after submitting the required documents to the State Expropriation Agency.

In addition, ARRSH will register the project area and transfer ownership of the expropriated properties to the state. The second decision concerns the first phase of the Elbasan–Qafë Thanë road expansion project.

The government will compensate affected agricultural landowners with a total fund of 278,400 ALL.

Both projects aim to improve road infrastructure and strengthen connections along this important transport corridor. The decisions take effect immediately after publication in the Official Gazette.
