Historical Figures and Ethnography Shine in Xhevdet Spahija’s Latest Exhibition in Përmet

The exhibition titled “In Cohesion with Ethnos” by the artist from Gjakova, Xhevdet Spahija, recently opened in Përmet.

The opening was attended by the Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mirela Kumbaro, the Mayor of Përmet, Alma Hoxha, artists, citizens, and others.

“It’s a beautiful surprise to find Kosovo in Përmet. You start with public consultations on the Vjosa Visitor Center and enjoy another exhibition by painter Xhevdet Spahija. A total of 27 works, created at different times, are being showcased this November at the Multifunctional Center ‘Odhise Paskali’ in Përmet, providing the youth of Përmet with another opportunity to learn about our historical figures and ethnography,” Kumbaro wrote in a social media post.

According to the artist, Spahija believes that historical figures and ethnography should be recognized and appreciated, especially by younger generations. He has taken great care in studying every detail to create works that are as realistic as possible in representing history.

Spahija has stood out with his paintings since the 1970s and has also worked as a professor of visual arts. His paintings have been praised by critics for their subject matter and high artistic mastery.
