Holy Breath Day, the Monastery of Shën Triadha in Dropull opens its doors

The Day of the Holy Breath in the Dropull area is historically and traditionally celebrated in the Shën Triadha /Trinity/ Monastery in Pepel.

The monastery is a cultural monument with special values for the history of this region. According to all studies, the construction time of this Monastery, which is known in the area for its many charities but also for its divine powers, is not clearly defined.

The monastery of Shën Triadha was burned by the German soldiers in the summer of 1944 and it was in these premises that local artisans, who came from Greece but also from other areas of Albania, sold the products they created themselves.

According to the legend, the inhabitants found the shining icon of Shën Triadha in the forest. They took it to the village church several times, but it kept moving back to her place of origin. So they were forced to build her cult church, exactly in that place.
