Ibrahimaj: European Commission highlights progress in employment and vocational training

The European Commission has recognised Albania’s progress in employment, education and vocational training, highlighting developments in several programmes and policies designed to improve skills and expand access to the labour market.
Minister of Economy and Innovation Delina Ibrahimaj shared the findings of the European Commission’s 2026 Albania Report on social media, highlighting eight areas of progress.
She noted that Albania had advanced preparations for joining EURES, the European network of employment services. Meanwhile, vocational education continued to attract more students and strengthen its role in developing job-ready skills.
The report also highlights the expansion of dual vocational education and workplace learning, alongside the nationwide rollout of the Youth Guarantee, which has increased young people’s participation.
Furthermore, Albania continued implementing measures to help social assistance beneficiaries enter the labour market and improve access to employment services and opportunities for persons with disabilities.
The report also acknowledges progress in the legal framework for recognising skills acquired outside formal education, as well as the expansion of vocational internships and cooperation with businesses.
“We continue to create more employment and vocational training opportunities while bringing Albania closer to European standards,” Ibrahimaj said.
