This year, the Lumo Skëndo Prize honored esteemed journalist and renowned researcher Ilir Ikonomi for his book “Fan Noli, Apostle.”

With a decade of research, Ikonomi presents the biography of one of the 20th century’s most distinguished figures, in three volumes.

During the award ceremony, the author shared insights from the upcoming second volume, expected to be released this year.

“Mid’hat Frashëri and Fan Noli spent no more than a week together in Geneva, yet they were present at a crucial moment. They were arguably the only Albanians truly capable of defending the borders of Albania. Hence, this award I receive today evokes significant reflections on history. It holds profound meaning for me,” he remarked.

The 2023 Lumo Skëndo Prize was conferred upon Ikonomi with the motivation: “For the objective and professional portrayal of the life and work of the distinguished national figure, Fan S. Noli.”
