As part of the United Nations Cultural Week, Shkodra hosted the intangible heritage experts from across the globe participating in UNESCO’s training programs.

While in Shkodra, they had the opportunity to explore the city and immerse themselves in the beautiful family traditions of craft enterprises that contribute to Shkodra’s cultural wealth and heritage. They observed firsthand the production and promotion of handicraft products and their significant impact on local culture and the economy.

The discussion also revolved around UNESCO’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting handicrafts as integral to the cultural heritage of humanity, along with exploring potential collaborations to support specialists in preserving traditional techniques and skills related to handicrafts.

The specialists from Regional Directorate of Cultural Heritage Shkodër accompanied the group of international experts to various workshops, including the ‘Gjonej’ jewelry store and the ‘Gjino Mjeda’ loom, where the masters graciously welcomed them.
