Albanian President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, on the International Mother Language Day, appealed for the preservation, enrichment and inheritance of the Albanian language, especially under the circumstances when many Albanians live in different countries of the world and of an unstoppable interaction with the languages ​​of others.

The President shared on his official Facebook wall his appreciation for the Albanians who have preserved and inherited the language over the centuries.

Begaj congratulated especially the Albanians who have been living abroad for years, parents and teachers, who, in addition to coexistence with the cultures of different peoples in the countries where they live, manage to preserve their mother tongue as a national identity.

“Each element that reflects love for the homeland is impressive and unique. Albanians everywhere in the world preserve and inherit the language as an essential part of our national identity. Today, on World Mother Language Day, I congratulate all those parents and teachers who pass on the “Albanian language” to our children, writes President Begaj.

On the International Mother Language Day, President Begaj also distributed footage of children, born and raised in different countries of the world, interpreting the verses of the poem “Albanian Language” of poet Ndre Mjeda.
