Tirana, October 3 – The 27th edition of the International Theatre Festival “Skampa 2025” opened last night, bringing the magic of theatre to the heart of Elbasan.

The festival runs from October 2 to 6 and features a variety of performances from around the world. A total of nine theatre troupes will take the stage. Among them are the State Theatres of Ankara and Istanbul from Turkey, along with companies from Greece, Kosovo, Lithuania, Serbia, and Albania.

As in previous editions, the festival also includes seminars, photography exhibitions, and book promotions highlighting theatrical values.

The opening night showcased “Medea – Material,” performed by the State Theatres of Ankara and Istanbul. The play, written by Heiner Müller and presented in Turkish for the first time, blends mythology, history, memory, and dreams.
