Korçë Hosts “The Written Cave” Exhibition, Highlighting Modern Artistic Interpretations of Archaeological Heritage

The performative exhibition “The Written Cave” has opened in Korçë, featuring the works of four contemporary artists from different disciplines and generations: Enza Rripaj, Abi Shehu, Vasil Tole, and Alexander Walmsley. The core of the artistic works produced by the group revolves around the archaeological wealth of the Korçë and Devoll regions, reinterpreted through the lens of contemporary art.
“This exhibition connects a very important concept between archaeology and ‘The Written Cave’ as a concept of writing, while also offering a great opportunity to revisit the values that belong to all of us,” said curator Fabio Toska.
“It is a re-examination of local traditions and values through the eyes of these contemporary artists and new media,” stated curator Adela Demetja.
“In this exhibition, I present a text, an imaginary narrative based on the experience we had during our week in Korçë. My interpretation is a storytelling that blends real elements with imagination,” explained visual artist Enza Rripaj.
The exhibition, organized by the Digital Art Gallery in Korçë in collaboration with Tirana Art Lab, is supported by the Ministry of Economy, Culture, and Innovation.
