Korçë Serenades Festival Fills Streets with Music for Three Nights

Serenades filled Korçë’s streets and squares for three unforgettable nights.

The Korça Serenades Festival ran from September 18–20, celebrating the city’s rich musical heritage.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared festival highlights on social media. He praised the event for uniting top Korçë serenade artists.

“Korça Serenights’ second edition was magical. Three nights filled the streets and Old Bazaar square with visitors and the sounds of serenades. This treasured tradition became part of one of our most beautiful festivals,” Rama wrote.

The festival opened with the exhibition “With Guitar and Mandolin, I Sing to You”. It displayed instruments from Korçë families who have preserved serenades across generations.

On the second night, the Lyceum hosted performances by Mimoza Paraveli, Ëndërr Serenatë Band, Jorgjeta Lalazi, Hani i Pazarit Band, and Cofiel Band.

The third night brought a gala to the Old Bazaar. Maestro Josif Minga conducted the Armed Forces Orchestra as artists Frederik Ndoci, Eli Fara, Korçë brothers Endri and Stefi Prifti, Mihallaq Andrea, Ermira Kola, and Bledi Polena performed classic serenades.

Korçë serenades traditionally dedicated love songs to the city’s streets, played with guitars and mandolins beneath young women’s windows.
