The folk group from Kotë, Vlorë, won first prize at the third Selenicë Folklore Festival, held from August 1–3.
Second and third prizes went to the Vajza group and “Autokton.” The Gjormi girls’ group received an encouragement award.
The festival brought together 20 folk groups from Selenicë and nearby regions, including Delvinë, Gjirokastër, and Memaliaj.
For three nights, over 200 artists performed live in Kotë, celebrating Labëria’s polyphonic tradition.
Mayor Nertil Bellaj highlighted the event’s cultural value and youth involvement. Artistic director Sejmen Gjokoli praised it as the first live folk festival in Labëria’s heartland.
The municipality also honored late rhapsodist Feti Brahimaj with the title “Honorary Citizen.”
