Krujë Museum Center welcomed over 212,000 visitors in 2025

The Krujë Museum Center attracted thousands of tourists from around the world in 2025. According to the director, Medi Hafizi, more than 212,000 visitors explored the center last year.
Moreover, these numbers reflect a growing public interest in Albanian history and culture. As a result, Krujë has become one of the country’s most important cultural tourism destinations.
Hafizi noted that out of the 212,000 visitors, about 182,000 visited the “Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu” National Museum. Meanwhile, over 30,000 explored the Ethnographic Museum.
In addition, foreign tourists visiting Krujë mainly came from Poland, France, the United States, and Spain. However, a significant number also came from China, Germany, Israel, Bulgaria, Hungary, and Italy.
Looking ahead, officials expect even more visitors in 2026 to the Krujë bazaar, the National Museum of Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu, and the Ethnographic Museum.
Built in the 5th–6th centuries, Krujë Castle, together with the National Museum inside, represents one of Albania’s most valuable architectural monuments. It commemorates the life and battles of Albania’s national hero, Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu. Furthermore, the Old Bazaar is among the most famous in the country, with narrow cobblestone streets offering traditional handicrafts.
