Kukës Museum Sees 40% Increase in Visitors: Tourists Discover Local Ethnography, Traditions, and History

Kukës Museum remained the city’s most popular attraction this summer, drawing both local and international tourists eager to explore the region’s ethnography and traditions.

Tour guide Liridon Cena highlighted the influx of visitors from Kosova, especially those vacationing on the Albanian coast. “Many of our Kosovar brothers, while on holiday at the Albanian seaside, also make it a point to visit Kukës, with the museum being a key attraction,” he said.

With the start of the new school year, the museum has partnered with local schools to organize open lessons, offering students the opportunity to learn about Kukës’ rich history and culture.

The museum features three main sections, starting with exhibits on flora and fauna and moving on to traditional clothing. One of the standout displays in the Kukës Ethnographic Museum is the “oda e burrave,” (Guest Room)a traditional men’s room that captures visitors’ attention.
