Kurçaj Bridge, heritage related to sustainable regional tourism

Albanian National Institute of Cultural Heritage brought to attention one of the cultural monuments, of interest to visit during the weekend.
The Kurçaj Bridge is located near the village of Kurçaj, east of Kruja. This cobblestone bridge was built in the eighteenth century over the river Zeza. It served to connect Kruja with the Field of Tirana. The bridge is built with a large arch and two side windows.
It represents an excellent example of historic regional architecture and engineering achievement, which has the potential to become an integral part of revitalized local and regional walking trails and part of the heritage approach linked with sustainable regional tourism.
The Kurçaj Bridge, a First Category Cultural Monument, was restored by the EU4Culture Program, financed by the European Union and implemented by UNOPS in partnership with the Albanina Ministry of Culture.
