The concert “La femme”, which brings together the music of female composers from the Middle East, the Balkans, Western and Eastern Europe, South Africa, the USA, Canada and Latin America, among them of course Albania including Lola Gjoka and Eriona Rushiti will be held on 31st of October in Tirana. Mezzo-soprano Flaka Goranci, producer of the concert says that this is a program with 21 pieces by women composers, which brings a different journey and history starting from the first female composer 1 thousand years ago. It’s a story and an inspiration, it’s a variety of music, not just classical, including very popular songs like “Besame mucho” that were written by women.

The concert takes the audience on a musical journey through the variety of styles, genres and cultures represented by the composers. It is a tribute to the creativity and unique expression of female musical visions starting from two saints of the church, Kasia of Constantinople and Hildegarde Von Bingen, of Germany.

The free concert is held as part of the Austrian Cultural Week, conducted by Konstantinos Diminakis and accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra of the Armed Forces of Albania.
