Lamallari: Public Safety and Police Reform Top Albania’s Agenda

Interior Minister Besfort Lamallari has outlined public safety and police modernization as key priorities for the government’s second year in office.
During a government meeting in Pogradec, Lamallari presented the work completed by the Interior Ministry in recent months and outlined its priorities for the period ahead.
The ministry will focus on strengthening public safety, modernizing the State Police and fighting illegal activities. It also aims to improve the quality and standards of services provided to citizens.
Lamallari said the government’s strategic document “BESA” will guide efforts to build a new relationship between public institutions and citizens.
He also linked these priorities to Albania’s wider goal of joining the European Union by 2030.
The government says stronger institutions, improved public services and greater security will remain central to Albania’s development and European integration.
