October, the month of literature, is now celebrated in Lezhë as “Fishta October.” The name honors the life and work of Father Gjergj Fishta.

The initiative aims to highlight the literary legacy of the national poet, Franciscan cleric, publicist, and prominent Albanian thinker. In Lezhë, a series of literary, cultural, and artistic events are planned.

The Public Library “At Gjergj Fishta” organized the exhibition “The Word that Raised the Nation.” It featured the major work Lahuta e Malcis in various editions from the library’s collection, along with scholarly studies on this masterpiece of Albanian literature.

Meanwhile, the Municipality of Lezhë announced the 2025 National Literary Competition “At Gjergj Fishta.” Winners will be announced on October 23.
