“Logu i Bjeshkëve (Amphitheatre of the Mountains),” the Festival that Preserves Cultural Heritage Values

The natural amphitheater at Qafa e Predelecit (Perdeleci Pass) hosted “Logu i Bjeshkëve (Amphitheatre of the Mountains)” on Sunday. It is one of the most beautiful festivals preserving the cultural heritage of Malësia e Madhe.
The event welcomed President Bajram Begaj, Shkodër County Prefect Majlinda Angoni, deputies, and thousands of citizens from all over. They experienced a vibrant festival full of colors, sounds, and beauty.
In his speech, Begaj said, “This festival beautifully embodies the highlander’s celebration and the pride of our culture as Albanians. Logu i Bjeshkëve (Amphitheatre of the Mountains) is one of the most meaningful cultural and social events in our northern regions”.
He added, “This traditional event, held for decades, unites the community around values of hospitality, natural beauty, folk culture, and the pride of highland women. It reconnects us with history, art, costumes, dances, songs, and nature. It reminds us of our roots, respect for customs, and the commitment to preserve and pass them on from generation to generation.”
Ancient songs, lively dances, and the sounds of lahuta and flute blended with the elegance of contestants in “Miss Bjeshka”.
The festival gathers artists from Albanian regions and the Diaspora. It promotes tourism and cultural heritage in Kelmend and throughout Malësia e Madhe.
After the artistic program, featuring performances by “Miss Bjeshka 2025” contestants, the jury announced the winner. Aurela Lulaj, originally from Vukli, born in Italy and now living and studying in Canada, won the title. She proudly wore and promoted the traditional xhubleta /jubleta/ dress.
Attendees enjoyed the concert prepared for the occasion and tasted traditional local dishes.
