On the eve of Valentine’s Day, Rita Petro, Albania’s Poet Laureate, and the National Center for Book and Reading (QKLL) organized a poetic evening titled “Love in Verses.”

During the event, attendees will hear classical and modern poetry by Albanian and world poets, translated into Albanian. In addition, the evening will feature popular erotic lyrical works. Poetry lovers will experience deep emotions with each reading, reflecting human feelings and experiences.

Furthermore, the event will take place at the Agimi Art Center. Present will be poets and writers including Mimoza Ahmeti, Sokoli Çunga, Ana Kove, Agim Baçi, Egla Xhemali, Vlora Nikçi, Edon Qezari, Ilda Mejdani, Liridon Mulaj, Denata Rroji, Enxhi Naumi, and Altea Alushi.

As Poet Laureate for 2025–2027, Rita Petro will have an active public role. Through this role, she will bring contemporary poetry closer to readers, especially young audiences, via cultural events and readings.

Ultimately, the evening celebrates the power of poetry to express love and human emotions, enriching Albania’s literary and cultural life.
