In the village of Dhoksat, in Gjirokastër, one of the 100 villages selected as a tourist destination, the folklore festival “Divani Lunxhot” has started.

On the first evening of this festival, 6 folklore groups took the stage, which presented the best values ​​of folk and ethnography.

“We have our traditional Gjirokastër songs, the sole songs,” says one of the artists.

“We bring the old traditional songs and dances of the three areas of Tirana,” adds another artist.

For the organizers, this event, in the heart of Lunxhëria, is very important for keeping tradition alive and promoting tourism.

“It is also a tourist asset, because not only spiritual and cultural things are produced here, but also material things,” says an artist.

The activities of this important event started with the opening of the culinary and handicraft fairs.

“Here I brought halva with rice flour, halva with corn flour and the traditional lakror, characteristic dishes of the Lunxhëria province,” says a local lady.

“I presented the dishes of Lunxhëria, with diplon, which is the main one, with hasude and all the fruits of the area, which I have processed, glyco and various liqueurs. Similarly, the spices, because Lunxhëria is a treasure, a pearl for all these dishes,” adds another resident of the area.

“Divani Lunxhiot” Festival is organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Municipality and the Gjirokastër District Council.
