Many people attend the pilgrimage on Mount Tomor in Berat

The Bektashi Community festival gathers believers not only from Albania but also from abroad.
Meanwhile, the World Bektashi Leader, Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj, greeted participants and confirmed the pilgrimage will take place over five days at the Kulmak Teqe and near Abaz Aliu’s tomb.
“We support pilgrims at every moment, providing assistance on the route, water, sanitation, and even meat roasting. We remain ready to help at any time. Thousands of pilgrims have come over the past days to see and receive the blessing of this sacred mountain,” Brahimaj said.
In addition, the Bektashi Community has taken all necessary measures for public order and safety. Authorities are paying special attention to fire risks.
“Police, firefighters, and medical teams are on standby. We have been working for several days, including a plan for organizing people, placing tents, and directing traffic. We installed signs so people do not block movement,” Brahimaj added.
Furthermore, pilgrims have started ascending to the tekke, performing their rites and prayers. The festival is expected to reach its peak attendance in the coming days, with nearly 500,000 participants.
