Today on Teacher’s Day in the premises of the Presidential Office, Albanian President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj welcomed retired teachers of extraordinary contribution to Albanian education.

Begaj expressed his appreciation and thanks to them on behalf of Albanian society for the role they have played in educating the generations with love for the language, education, and the homeland.

“Today, as we stand here together, I want to start with a simple but charged with emotions word: Thank you! Thank you for being and continuing to be the pillars on which our education system was built and is growing. You, with your dedication, passion and love of teaching, have ignited the sparks of curiosity and knowledge in the hearts of many generations. Your stories, the experience and lessons you have shared are a precious legacy that continues to inspire generations,” Begaj said in his speech.

“In this long and complicated journey called education, you have been not just teachers, but also educators and mentors for many pupils and students who to this day remember you with gratitude and love. Your role in the formation of characters and in the construction of a knowledgeable and responsible society cannot and should not be underestimated,” said Begaj.

“Through your dedication, you have shown that education is not just a transmission of knowledge, but a sacred mission to convey the knowledge and the best value ​​of our people – Albanianness,” added Begaj.

“Today, more than ever, your wisdom, experience and love of teaching is needed. As we build an educational future that strives to be inclusive, fair and innovative, we must find inspiration in you, in the example you set every day in carrying out your mission with sacrifices, but also love for the sprouts of the future. You are proof that teachers are, in fact, the builders of tomorrow,” pointed out the Head of State.

“Let’s continue to build on the foundations you have laid, preserving the traditional values ​​that have guided us so far, but also embracing the new methods and technologies that move us forward.

At the end of the day, what unites us all is a love of country and the belief in the power of education and the passing of knowledge from generation to generation to change lives. You have given your life a high purpose, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of those you have taught. For this, you will always be remembered as the pride and heroes of our society,” emphasized Begaj.
