Margariti, Archaeological Park of Adrianopol, one of the most beautiful near Gjirokastër

The Archaeological Park of Adrianople is one of the most beautiful parks, near the city under the protection of UNESCO, Gjirokastër, said the Minister of Culture, Elva Margariti.

Through a post on social networks, Margariti underlined that the employees of Regional Directorate of Cultural Heritage (DRTK) Gjirokastër continue the work to clean and organize the Archaeological Park of Adrianopol, despite the low temperatures and wet weather.

“Despite the low temperatures and wet weather, the employees of the Regional Directorate of Cultural Heritage – DRTK Gjirokaster continue the work to clean and organize the cultural monuments,” Margariti emphasized in a post on social networks.

The ancient city of Adrianopol is located in an open field 14 km south of Gjirokastër, about 300 m from the Gjirokastër-Saranda highway, in the Municipality of Dropull. In these summer days, it has turned into an important center for the development of tourism. Thanks to the archeological excavations of recent years, the sites that can be visited by tourists have been added to this site, increasing their interest in the guides in this area.
