Mediterranean Treasures Unveiled in Tirana

“The Memory of the Mediterranean – From Antiquity to Modern Times” is an exhibition opening at the National Library. It features over 700 original works, books, manuscripts, maps, and engravings from the 14th to the 19th century. These works reflect the rich Mediterranean heritage.

The exhibition opens on June 18 and presents part of the National Library’s collection to the public.

Prime Minister Edi Rama called this exhibition a unique window into our shared history.

“From Homer, Aristotle, and Plutarch, to Ottoman maps and Venetian works, from monotheistic beliefs to great travelers and geographers, this exhibition offers a unique window into our common history,” Rama said.

The exhibition is part of the activities for Tirana’s designation as the Mediterranean Capital of Culture and Dialogue 2025.

It opens on June 18 at the National Library and remains open to the public until July 18.
