The Arbëresh Study and Publication Center (QSPA) in collaboration with the Metropol Theater and the two high schools of Tirana, “Ismail Qemali” and “Qemal Stafa” brought the poetic meeting “Contemporary Arbëresh Poetry”.

The activity took place in the Shakespeare Hall of the Metropol Theater.

This poetic meeting aimed at conveying to the new generations the spiritual heritage of Arbëresh, as an important part of our national culture.

The activity focused on contemporary Arbëresh poetry with poems from 22 of the most prominent poets of the Arbëresh area were selected for interpretation today.

Putting on stage these poems was the final phase of the project that started three months ago in these two high schools of the capital. In the first phase of the project, open lectures were held on Arbëresh culture, which influenced the further information of the students on this literature.

While, today, the students themselves were the protagonists, bringing the poetic atmosphere of the most prominent names of Arbëresh poetry. Soon, the Center for Studies and Publications for Arbëresh will extend this project to other Albanian schools.
