Minister Blendi Gonxhja Highlights Special Exhibition at the Marubi National Museum of Photography

Today, Minister of Economy, Culture, and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, reminded the public on social media about the ongoing exhibition “The Lost Bazaar of Shkodra: The Revival of a Memory” at the Marubi National Museum of Photography.

The exhibition features, for the first time, the collection of Palokë Laca. He was an early merchant from Shkodra. His artifacts were kept in the Ethnographic Museum archives in Budapest.

Palokë Laca, also known as Paolo Lazza, sold about 300 items. These include jewelry and traditional Albanian clothing. Marubi’s director, Luçjan Bedeni, and curator Kim Knoppers led detailed research on him.

Minister Gonxhja invites everyone to visit the exhibition. It is open every day, Monday to Sunday, from 09:00 to 19:00.

Kim Knoppers curates the exhibition. A special section honors textile designer Jozef Martini. His jacquard works give a modern twist to traditional Shkodra patterns.
