Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Sports Blendi Gonxhja announced that restoration work on Borsh Castle will start soon.

He said the project will improve the visitor experience and at the same time preserve the site’s historical identity.

The World Bank will finance the project, while the Albanian Development Fund will implement it in cooperation with the Ministry and the Municipality of Himara.

Gonxhja added that the restoration will conserve and stabilize the castle’s structures, restore the mosque inside the fortress, and introduce new architectural features such as pathways, interpretive panels, a viewing platform, and artistic lighting.
