The national photo competition “My Roots” brought together young Albanians to express their connection to identity and community, while addressing the challenges of irregular migration.

Minister for Youth and Children Bora Muzhaqi, British Ambassador Nicholas Abbot, and IOM Albania Director Alma Jani met today with the participants of the competition.

The discussion focused on irregular migration and the need to create opportunities for young people to build their future at home.

Through photography, the youth highlighted personal ties to their roots and reflected on ways to overcome migration pressures by investing in their own communities.

“This is an inspiring initiative for youth engagement, held as part of the project ‘Strengthening Local Institutional Capacities for Migration in Albania,’ supported by the Government,” said Minister Muzhaqi.
