National Program for Culture and Creativity Grants 2025 Marks Record Growth

The 2025 National Program for Culture and Creativity Grants is bringing more opportunities, increased support, and greater artistic vibrancy across Albania.

Minister of Economy, Culture, and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, published updated statistics on cultural events supported by the Ministry.

This year, the Ministry has supported 933 cultural and creative events—more than double the number from the previous year. These include festivals, exhibitions, concerts, craft fairs, literary readings, and performances that have enriched the national cultural calendar.

The Ministry selected 275 winning projects—an increase of 37% compared to 2024. These fall under four main support schemes, which Minister Gonxhja described as a record achievement.

The supported initiatives include:

  • 129 cultural and creative events,
  • 45 cultural programs by organizations,
  • 54 projects from the Creativity Fund,
  • 47 projects from the Artisans’ Fund.

This year, youth participation increased significantly. First-time beneficiaries represent 51% of the total. Financial support also rose by 141% compared to 2024, reaching 300 million Albanian lekë.

A total of 1,566 individuals—including artists, artisans, managers, technicians, and cultural professionals—have been employed or engaged through these projects.

Minister Gonxhja pledged further expansion in 2026. The Ministry plans to strengthen its commitment to artists, cultural centers, and art institutions nationwide.
