National Theatre Premieres “Faust” Directed by Davide Iodice

Last night, the National Theatre premiered Faust at ArTurbina, directed by Davide Iodice, with performances by Ema Andrea, Lulzim Zeqja, Besmir Bitraku, Indrit Çobani, Hervin Çuli, Niada Saliasi, Ina Gjonçi, Krist Lleshi, Gert Ferra, and Genti Deçka.

This adaptation of Faust portrays the modern man, where the devil no longer embodies temptation or sin, but rather the persistent evil in life. Through the seven deadly sins and, above all, through his encounter and love for Margarita, Faust experiences the suffering of the modern soul, symbolizing both the relentless struggle and the ultimate sacrifice in the battle between good and evil.

Davide Iodice, known for his past collaborations with Albanian artists—such as The Visit, which won the Media Prize at the MESS Festival for Migjeni Theatre—also handled the adaptation, set design, and costumes for Faust. This production is a collaboration between the National Theatre and Sardegna Teatro, with support from the Italian Institute of Culture.
