As part of the “National Year of the 80th Anniversary of Liberation,” the National Historical Museum, in collaboration with the Institute of Military Studies, organized a commemorative event at the “Musine Kokalari” Library in Tirana.

The event’s theme was “Historical Overview of the Assault Brigades Formed in September 1944,” which highlighted the extraordinary contributions of historical figures to the Anti-Fascist National Liberation War.

The discussion featured presentations by Prof. Assoc. Dr. Bernard Zotaj, Gani Elezi, Ledio Xhoxhi, Hysni Mullalli, and Vjollca Trebicka.

The commemorative event contributed to preserving the collective memory of the sacrifices and heroism of the Albanian people.

The government has approved a resolution declaring 2024 as the national year of celebrations for the 80th anniversary of the country’s Liberation and has established a State Commission for organizing year-long celebrations. Numerous artistic and cultural activities are being organized as part of this commemoration.
