One of the most important events was held in Tirana yesterday that gives a voice to young people and the issues they want to bring up for discussion – the 2023 Youth Festival.

Over 100 young people from 7 municipalities of the country, professionals working with children and young people, leaders of institutions and organizations, as well as journalists and citizens, gathered at the Pyramid of Tirana with the same goal: To listen to young people, to exchange ideas and find solutions for a world with more opportunities for the new generation.

During the festival directed by the well-known moderator Eno Popi, the participants were introduced to one of the biggest challenges faced by young people today, employment and the relationship with the labor market.

The young people, not only raised the problem that worries them, but also proposed 5 clear and structured ideas, which according to them address the challenges they encounter. The ideas were presented by the young people themselves in digital form, while the physical and online participants voted directly for the three best ideas.

During the festival, there was also a conversation between young people and guests, the Minister of State for Youth and Children, Bora Muzhaqi, the executive director of World Vision Albania, Eljona Elmazi, the head of the Regional Office for Youth Cooperation – RYCO in Albania, Alba Brojka, the head of the National Employment and Skills Agency, Klevis Hysa, as well as the talented artist and ambassador of World Vision Albania, Marsela Çibukaj.

Panelists emphasized the importance of involving young people as decision-makers in issues that directly affect their lives, using the power of technology as a tool to find solutions.

The leaders of the institutions committed to the young people that throughout the coming year they will include one of these ideas in their initiatives, commitments or ventures.

The seventh edition of the Youth Festival 2023 was organized by World Vision Albania in cooperation with the Regional Youth Cooperation Office – RYCO.
