Over 773,000 Visitors to Cultural Sites

Minister of Economy, Culture, and Innovation Blendi Gonxhja said Albania is increasingly securing its place on the world map of cultural tourism.

He shared data showing a significant increase in visits to cultural sites across the country. From January to July 2025, Albania welcomed more than 773,000 visitors to its cultural heritage locations, a 69% rise compared to 2023.

July alone saw more than 200,000 people, both local and foreign, exploring museums, castles, and archaeological parks. The growth compared to two years ago was notable, especially in archaeological parks, which drew almost double the number of visitors.

Some of the most popular sites included Butrint National Park, Gjirokastër Castle, Shkodër Archaeological Park, the Gjergj Kastrioti Museum in Kruja, and Apollonia Archaeological Park. Gonxhja said the figures confirm the increasing appeal of Albania’s cultural heritage to both domestic and international tourists.
