Parliament Hosts Human Rights Film Festival Event with Ukrainian Embassy

Deputy Speaker Klodiana Spahiu hosted today’s event in Parliament, organized with the Ukrainian Embassy as part of the 20th International Human Rights Film Festival.
The Swedish director Victor Nordenshold’s documentary “EUkrainian” screened for guests, showing daily life in Ukraine four years into Russia’s aggression. Diplomats, artists, and festival organizers filled the hall.
Spahiu praised the tradition of cooperation with the Marubi Film Academy and called the event a rallying cry for human rights. “The war in Ukraine shows how peace, sovereignty, and human dignity are under attack,” she said. “Freedoms and rights survive only if we defend them with courage.”
Ukrainian diplomat Yuliia Gorokhovska delivered Ambassador Volodymyr Shkurov’s message. He thanked Albania for its unwavering support and said it proves the unity of shared values: democracy, freedom, and human rights.
Festival Honorary President Theodore S. Orlin and Executive Director Kujtim Çashku also addressed the audience. Earlier, guests toured the exhibition “Engraved Memory: Myths and Heroes Between Two Worlds” by a Ukrainian artist.
