Peleshi attends the 74th National Prayer Breakfast in the United States

Parliament Speaker Niko Peleshi attended today’s National Prayer Breakfast in Washington.

U.S. President Donald Trump also attended, along with political, social, and religious leaders.

The 74th National Prayer Breakfast took place on February 5 in Washington. It is one of the most important annual ceremonies. It brings together international leaders for reflection, dialogue, and prayer.

The United States has hosted the event since 1953. It takes place every first Thursday of February.

Speaker Peleshi highlighted the importance of strengthening neighborly relations, partnership, and cooperation between the parliaments of Albania and the United States. His participation contributed to deeper dialogue with a strategic partner.

President Donald Trump delivered the closing speech. He stressed international cooperation, moral values, and unity during global challenges.

Around 3,500 participants from nearly 140 countries attended the event. They included political and religious leaders, as well as representatives from business, academia, and civil society.

Beyond its ceremonial role, the Prayer Breakfast serves as a platform for dialogue. Leaders discuss peace, social justice, prosperity, and interfaith cooperation.

Every U.S. president since Dwight D. Eisenhower has attended and spoken at the event, making it one of the most enduring traditions in American public life.
