Përmet Hosts Fifth Edition of “Nona” Festival

The fifth edition of the “Nona” Festival brought life and color to Përmet this weekend. The event gathered numerous singers and musicians, adding joy to the celebration.
Now a well-established annual tradition, the festival promotes the cuisine, values, and resources of the entire region. It attracted a large number of local and foreign visitors, including guests from Vlora, Durrës, and Kosovo.
Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku and Minister of Tourism and Environment Mirela Kumbaro attended the event. They praised the organizers for turning the festival into more than a local celebration. They also commended Përmet’s Mayor, Alma Hoxha, for her strong support.
The two ministers visited several stands at the fair, stopping at one run by a new dairy business. Balluku noted that the packaging meets all European Union standards. The dairy, “Aoos” — the ancient name of the Vjosa River — was founded by two migrant couples returning from Greece and Italy, now investing their skills in their homeland.
“It’s worth supporting all new Albanian businesses, especially those run by returnee migrants,” Balluku stated.
Alongside concerts featuring well-known Albanian performers, the festival showcased local products, traditional cuisine, regional values, and Përmet’s signature hospitality.
Dedicated to Albanian grandmothers, particularly those of Përmet, the “Nona” Festival celebrates a tradition of warm welcome. The city reached full capacity, with every guesthouse, hotel, and hosting home fully booked.
