Prime Minister Edi Rama shared today images from Gjirokastër, one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country.

The city is hosting the festival “Isopolyphony on the Cobblestones”, with the great master of polyphonic song Arjan Shehu and the group “Ergjëria,” who opened the first evening for many other groups.

“In Gjirokastër, where every alley sings and even the stones keep the isopolyphony, the festival ‘Isopolyphony on the Cobblestones’ (‘Iso mbi kalldrëm’) has returned with the great master of polyphonic song Arjan Shehu and the group ‘Ergjëria,’ who opened the first evening for many other groups,” Rama wrote on social media.

“We await you in Gjirokastër throughout August to join our iso, a precious treasure of the stone city with a silver soul,” the head of government said.

This August, as in every summer, the festival “Isopolyphony on the Cobblestones” returned to Gjirokastër. Folkloric groups from the city took part, and the event brought vibrancy to the city.

The activity attracted many visitors, including foreign tourists curious about the iso singing.

The festival will continue throughout August, with folkloric groups from all administrative units of Gjirokastër taking part.
