TIRANA, January 8 – Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting in Paris with entrepreneur Jared Kushner, son-in-law of U.S. President Donald Trump.

The meeting took place during the Coalition of Volunteers for Ukraine Summit, which includes 35 countries that pledged increased support for Ukraine against Russian aggression.

Prime Minister Rama noted that Kushner’s company, Atlantic Incubator Partners LLC, submitted a project to the Albanian Investment Development Agency on December 27, 2023, proposing an investment on Sazan Island.

He added that on December 30, 2024, the company received strategic investor status from the Strategic Investment Committee, under the prime minister’s direction, for the construction of a luxury resort on the island.

According to the committee’s decision, the project involves a €1.4 billion investment. Construction will cover 8% of the island, or 45 hectares.

The strategic project plans to build exclusive villas on Sazan Island, dedicated to high-end tourism.

Sazan Island lies between the Adriatic and Ionian seas. It is strategically positioned at the entrance of the Bay of Vlora, in the Otranto Strait that separates Italy from Albania.
