TIRANA, December 25 – Christian believers celebrated Christmas on 25 December, marking one of the most important holidays in Christianity.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Edi Rama marked the occasion by sharing an image from the frontispiece of Pjetër Bogdani’s monumental work, “Ceta e Profetëve” [The Company of the Prophets].

In his message, Rama said he chose the image to extend his Christmas greetings.

Meanwhile, Christmas commemorated the birth of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, according to Christian belief.

The holiday traditionally featured the Christmas tree as its main symbol. Gifts represented the offerings brought by shepherds and the Wise Men to the Christ Child.

At the same time, the Church marked the revelation of the Word of God to humanity. Liturgical celebrations reflected on the eternal birth of the Word, its incarnation among people, and the final return in the Last Judgment.
