TIRANA, January 12 – Prime Minister Edi Rama attended today the presentation of the Tropoja wind farm in Tirana. The project, developed by the American company CWP, has an expected capacity of 600 MW.

Rama stated that the investment demonstrates Albania’s progress toward a strong and sustainable energy future based on renewable sources. He added that, alongside major energy projects, the government has established a high level of reliability in the sector.

The Prime Minister emphasized that Albania’s energy sector operates as an open field for international competition. He noted that reputable companies now participate extensively in tenders and investments.

Rama highlighted that no serious company has raised concerns about the integrity of competitive processes. He underlined that the government has implemented systematic measures to ensure transparency and stability in the sector.

He further noted that representatives of American and other international companies can attest that they encountered no obstacles. On the contrary, the government supported them at every step, including overcoming bureaucratic challenges at the local level.

Rama acknowledged that some administrative difficulties were understandable, particularly for small municipalities without prior experience in projects of this scale. However, he stressed that these challenges have been addressed. The government ensured that CWP could proceed without delays while preparing all necessary implementation plans.

The Prime Minister praised the company’s environmental sensitivity and social responsibility. He said CWP has shown care for local ecosystems and actively supported the community. Investments included rural road infrastructure and other projects benefiting local residents.

Finally, Rama stated that CWP earned a well-deserved position in the respect of Albanian institutions. He expressed appreciation for the company’s cooperation and commitment to a project considered key for Albania’s energy future.
