Porto Palermo Castle Turns into a Cuban Music Stage

The historic Ali Pasha Castle in Porto Palermo, Himara, turned into a vibrant music stage on August 16. The Porto Palermo Festival brought colors, dance, and emotions to the castle’s setting.
The 11th night of the festival featured La Noche Cubana. It offered a musical journey to Cuba and its rich traditions.
Internationally acclaimed Cuban singer Laraine Cañizares Machado captivated the audience. Her powerful voice carried salsa, bolero, and tropical rhythms that evoked Havana. She performed with Michael Rodi on piano, Paolo Cozzolino on guitar, and Fabrizio Aiello on drums. Together, they delivered energy and deep emotions.
Minister of Economy, Culture, and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, highlighted the event on social media. He noted that the night brought Cuba’s spirit and energy to one of southern Albania’s most picturesque sites.
The audience joined the rhythms and danced through the night. The open-air setting under the southern stars created a festive atmosphere.
La Noche Cubana was part of this year’s Porto Palermo Festival. The edition closes tonight with Pasha Night. A well-known DJ will perform, offering a unique experience for electronic music lovers and beyond.
The Porto Palermo Festival is becoming a leading cultural event in the region. It brings high-profile artists and promotes culture and tourism in southern Albania.
