Porto Palermo Festival Returns for Its Fifth Edition in Albania’s Historic Castle

This week marks the official launch of the 5th edition of the Porto Palermo Festival, one of Albania’s most unique cultural events.

Held inside the medieval Ali Pasha Castle in Porto Palermo, the festival offers a one-of-a-kind stage experience, blending art, nature, history, and environmental awareness.

Opening on Thursday, July 31, and running through August 17, the festival promises 12 unforgettable nights of music and emotion in a setting unlike any other.

Before the music begins, organizers led a cleanup initiative in the surrounding area, underlining the festival’s commitment to environmental protection and sustainable cultural tourism.

Violinist Olen Cesari, the festival’s founder, will open the first night with a special performance. The following evening (August 1) will feature the Albanian Folkloric Ensemble, followed by performances from Ledina Çelo, Genc Tukiçi, Dëshira Ahmeti, and Anamaria Beqaj on August 2.

The lineup continues with a performance by Dren Abazi on Sunday, August 3, and celebrated singer Aurela Gaçe on Thursday, August 7. On August 8, Adrian Trebicka and Kastriot Tusha will take the stage, followed by Carlo Paz & Sin Fronteras on August 9.

Italian artist Alberto Laurenti will perform on Sunday, August 10, while the final nights will feature beloved returning performers like Marsela Çibukaj and Eda Zari.

Each evening offers not just music, but a deeper connection with Albania’s heritage and its commitment to blending culture with sustainability.
