President Bajram Begaj expressed his condolences after two young visitors from Kosovo drowned in Shëngjin.

He offered his sympathies to the victims’ families. He also wished a speedy recovery to the three other people injured in the incident.

Furthermore, Begaj said the tragedy should serve as a reminder of the importance of beach safety. He urged national and local institutions, as well as tourism operators, to take all necessary measures during the summer season.

As a result, he called for stronger safety standards to prevent similar incidents and protect both residents and visitors along Albania’s coastline.
