Prishtina Hosts 25th Annual Book Fair

The 25th edition of the book fair “Prishtina 2025” opened on Wednesday in Prishtina. The fair will run until June 15, 2025, at the Palace of Youth.

Around 100 publishers from Kosovo, Albania, North Macedonia, and the Diaspora are participating this year. They are expected to present about 2,000 new titles. The fair is open daily from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

This year’s fair carries the motto: “Intelligence flows from books.” Many cultural and literary figures attended the opening ceremony, including Alda Bardhyli, director of the National Book and Reading Center.

“In a time when information is everywhere but truth is often blurred, books remain the compass that guides us on our intellectual and spiritual journey,” said Bardhyli. She added, “Even after a quarter century, interest in books has not faded. On the contrary, it is reborn with new authors and eager readers.” Bardhyli invited everyone to use this event to deepen cultural dialogue and strengthen ties between generations.

The fair includes over 40 activities and marks several important anniversaries with events, discussions, and promotions. Special guests and writers from across Europe will also attend.

The anniversaries celebrated during the fair are:

100th anniversary of Martin Camaj’s birth
150th anniversary of Faik Konica’s birth
200th anniversary of Pashko Vasa’s birth
400th anniversary of Pjetër Bogdani’s birth.
