Puccini’s “Il Trittico” evokes powerful emotions in Varna.

The National Theatre of Opera, Ballet, and Folk Ensemble has increased the number of performances outside the state borders, aiming to serve as a diplomatic passport for our cultural heritage.

The concert performance of “Il Trittico” by Puccini traveled to the coastal city of Varna, Bulgaria. Directed by Ada Gurra, under the condution of Maestro Jacopo Sipari di Pescasseroli, and featuring soprano Dorina Selimaj, the performance was presented to the art-loving audience of the Bulgarian city on April 22nd and 24th.

The drama and passion of “Il Tabarro” were conveyed with full emotions by soprano Dorina Selimaj and baritone Plamen Dimitrov, as well as distinguished international soloists such as Kiril Manolov, Linka Stoyanova, Reynaldo Droz, Zhana Kostova, and others, alongside the chorus and orchestra of the Varna Theatre.

Director Ada Gurra took her directorial concept of “Il Trittico” beyond the borders of the Region, giving the necessary brilliance and care to this work on the renowned and prestigious stage of the Varna Theatre.

During the June-July period, two productions of the National Theatre of Opera, Ballet, and Folk Ensemble, “Samson and Delilah” and “La Boheme,” will be staged at the Varna Theatre, under the direction of Maestro Sipari.
