Rama Urges Exporters to Focus on Quality: “Made in Albania” Is a Passport to the EU

Prime Minister Edi Rama today called “Made in Albania” a mark of quality and a passport to the European Union. He promised strong government support for businesses seeking this certification.

Rama spoke at a dialogue table between the government and exporting businesses. The new ExportOn platform was presented. He urged companies to move away from low-price competition. Instead, they should focus on high-quality competition certified by the EU.

“This approach creates more value,” he said. “Profit comes from quality, not quantity.”

Rama also discussed EU accession. He said it will bring extraordinary opportunities, but also challenges. “Those who adapt will win. Those who fail to adapt will lose. Today, we start another critical year in the EU accession process,” he added.

The Prime Minister highlighted the role of the Albanian Investment Development Agency (AIDA). He said the agency now monitors, assists, and guides all exporters.

“One key task for our economy is to increase domestic value creation. AIDA’s main challenge and objective is to support exports, especially products labeled ‘Made in Albania’,” Rama said.

He promised that the government will place exporters at the center of support. AIDA will act as a hub where exporters meet state institutions.

Rama also emphasized direct government support for international certifications. He called it a strategic investment to help businesses enter the EU market faster.

“We will increase financial support for international certifications. We will also protect the brand and intellectual property of every product that enters the European market with an Albanian identity,” he said.
