RTSH Symphony Orchestra Concert: A Fusion of Tradition and Innovation

The RTSH Symphony Orchestra’s upcoming concert will open with Përhumbur, a contemporary work by Albanian composer Dorian Çene. This performance marks a continuation of the orchestra’s longstanding tradition of showcasing Albanian compositions, bringing local artistic creations to the forefront.

The program then moves to Sergei Rachmaninoff’s iconic Piano Concerto No. 2, one of the most renowned and beloved piano concertos worldwide. The concert will conclude with Ludwig van Beethoven’s monumental Symphony No. 5, whose “triumphant” melodies have made it one of the most celebrated pieces in the classical repertoire.

Conductor Olsi Qinami, who has conducted prestigious orchestras around the globe, shares that while working with the RTSH Symphony Orchestra, the music evokes new emotional dimensions. “As part of our tradition, we open the concert with a premiere by Dorian Çene, Përhumbur, a modern, short piece with a fresh musical language. We will then proceed with Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2, and the second half will feature Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5,” said Qinami.

The concert, filled with some of the most cherished masterpieces in the classical repertoire, will take place on Wednesday, November 20, at 18:00 in the University of Arts Hall.
