Saint Mark Day in Koljakaj of Lezha, the village festival was celebrated together by everyone.

Dozens of residents of the same area, Catholics and Muslims came together, proving that the holiday brings people together to live in harmony and happiness.

Kreshnik Mujeci, the ideator and organizer of this joint celebration, intends to turn it into a tradition, aiming at strengthening even more the ties within this community and the sharing everything together.

Saint Mark’s Day was something special even for those who had come from far away, on this occasion in Koljakaj.

The Saint Mark Festival was held on the hill above the village of Koljakaj, where a high cross has already been placed, which is seen as the protector and leader of the Catholic community.

According to the Holy Bible, Saint Mark followed the apostle Paul on his first missionary journey and then to Rome. He was a follower of Peter, whose preaching he presented in his Gospel. Tradition holds Saint Mark as the founder of the Alexandrian church.
